Terms and Conditions – Carlos Acosta Choreographic Fellowship

These terms and conditions (the “Terms”) govern the participation and application process for the Carlos Acosta Choreographic Fellowship (the “Fellowship”) provided by the Acosta Dance Foundation (the “Foundation”). By submitting an application for the Fellowship, applicants agree to comply with these Terms.

  1. Eligibility 1.1. Choreographers must meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the application guidelines provided by the Foundation. 1.2. The Foundation reserves the right to verify the eligibility of applicants and disqualify any ineligible applicants.
  2. Application Process 2.1. Applicants must complete and submit the official application form provided by the Foundation within the specified deadline. 2.2. The Foundation reserves the right to reject incomplete or late applications. 2.3. All application materials and supporting documents submitted must be accurate, truthful, and original. 2.4. The Foundation does not guarantee the confidentiality or security of any application materials submitted. 2.5. The application fee of £22 is NON-REFUNDABLE, regardless of the outcome of the application.
  3. Selection Process 3.1. Applications will go through a review process conducted by a selection panel appointed by the Foundation. 3.2. The selection panel’s decision is final and cannot be appealed. 3.3. The Foundation reserves the right to request additional information or conduct interviews with applicants during the selection process.
  4. Fellowship Award 4.1. The Fellowship award includes specific benefits and provisions as described in the Fellowship guidelines provided by the Foundation. 4.2. The Fellowship is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other alternative. 4.3. The Foundation reserves the right to modify or cancel the Fellowship award at any time without liability. 4.4. The Fellowship Award does not necessarily include a trip to Cuba. While there are opportunities to work in Cuba, it is important to note that being awarded the Fellowship does not guarantee travel to Havana or any other specific location apart from London. 4.5. Accommodation and travel expenses are only covered for choreographers’ residents outside London.
  5. Fellowship Requirements 5.1. Recipients of the Fellowship must fulfil all requirements and obligations outlined in the Fellowship guidelines provided by the Foundation. 5.2. Fellowship recipients must comply with any legal and contractual obligations as specified by the Foundation. 5.3. Failure to meet the Fellowship requirements may result in disqualification and revocation of the Fellowship award.
  6. Intellectual Property 6.1. Applicants retain ownership of their original work submitted as part of the application process. 6.2. By submitting an application, applicants grant the Foundation, the Acosta Dance Centre and Acosta Danza a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and display the submitted materials for promotional and marketing purposes related to the Fellowship. 6.3. Applicants are responsible for ensuring that their submitted materials do not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third parties.
  7. Privacy and Data Protection 7.1. The Foundation will collect and process personal data provided by applicants in accordance with applicable data protection laws and the Foundation’s Privacy Policy. 7.2. The Foundation may use the collected personal data for purposes related to the administration and promotion of the Fellowship.
  8. Limitation of Liability 8.1. The Foundation, its directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to the Fellowship. 8.2. The Foundation does not assume any responsibility or liability for any errors, omissions, interruptions, or delays in the application process or any technical issues that may affect the submission or receipt of applications.
  9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction 9.1. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where the Foundation is registered. 9.2. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with the Fellowship or these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the aforementioned jurisdiction.
  10. Modifications to the Terms 10.1. The Foundation reserves the right to modify or update these Terms at any time without prior notice. 10.2. Applicants are responsible for regularly reviewing the most recent version of the Terms available on the Foundation’s official website.
