Auction Terms and Conditions
The items in this auction are offered by the Acosta Dance Foundation, registered with the Charity Commissioners under number 1142368.
Auction Closing
Final bids will be accepted at the Acosta Dance Foundation’s Fundraising Gala at the Acosta Dance Centre on October 7th, 2024.
Questions
Any questions regarding the auction should be directed to the Acosta Dance Foundation. The following terms and conditions govern the sale of all items, as amended by posted notices or oral announcements during the auction (online and at the Acosta Dance Centre):
Online Bidding
- The auction starts online on September 12th and closes at approximately 10:10 pm on October 7th, 2024.
- Online bidders must accept the terms and conditions before submitting their bids.
- Online submissions must be accurate and include contact details.
- The current highest bids will be shown online for reference to the next bidder.
- Online bidding ends at 11:59 pm on October 6th, 2024.
- Final bids are placed at the Acosta Dance Foundation Gala on October 7th, 2024.
At the Gala
- Guests will receive bidder numbers, placed on their specific seats.
- Recent bids from online submissions will be displayed by each Lot on its bidding form.
- The minimum increment for bidding is indicated on each bidding sheet.
- To be accepted, a bid must be at least the minimum increment more than the current highest bid.
- Bidding sheets must be fully and legibly completed, including name, contact details, bidder number, table number, and bid amount.
- Successful bidders will be announced by the Mistress of Ceremonies. Payment must be made at the Payment Desk in the reception area, accepted via cheque (made out to Acosta Dance Foundation Ltd.), cash, or major credit/debit cards.
- All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds are available.
Risk, Liability, and Responsibility
- Items may be withdrawn by the Acosta Dance Foundation before the sale.
- Bids are per lot as numbered in the programme unless otherwise announced.
- The Acosta Dance Foundation reserves the right to reject any bid. In case of disputes, the auctioneer has the final say.
- The auctioneer may reject opening bids not commensurate with the item value.
- The highest bidder assumes all risk and responsibility, signs a confirmation of purchase, and pays the full amount due. Non-compliance may result in cancellation of the sale or resale of the property at the buyer’s risk.
- Payments must be made in Sterling, by cash, cheque (with guarantee card), or major credit cards. Bank transfer details are provided by the Acosta Dance Foundation.
- The Acosta Dance Foundation is not responsible for errors or omissions in commission or telephone bids.
- No rescinding of purchases or refunds will be issued.
- Shipping and delivery costs are not included.
- Items must be collected from the Foyer before 11:30 pm or by mutual agreement with staff.
- Unpaid or uncollected items will be resold at the former purchaser’s risk and expense.
- These conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. By bidding, purchasers consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. The auction remains at the discretion of the Acosta Dance Foundation.
