About Aurora’s dance piece concept
Aurora Casaturi’s piece draws inspiration from the Italian novel Uno, Nessuno e Centomila (“One, No One and One Hundred Thousand”), exploring how identity shifts depending on who we are with. Her choreography delves into the idea that we inhabit countless versions of ourselves in relation to others, but when alone, we are simply ‘nobody’. Through highly personal and physical movement, Aurora invites audiences to reflect on the fluidity of self and the silent spaces between the personas we perform in daily life.

“Seeing my movement translated onto other bodies — bodies that don’t have the same background as mine — has been amazing. They catch specific details I wouldn’t even notice, and bring so much of themselves into the work. Being able to trust the dancers with my vision, and seeing them trust themselves to bring it to life, has been one of the most beautiful parts of this process.”
