Reforesting The Body

Knowledge · Community · Movement

A year-long dance and wellbeing programme exploring the body as a living, regenerative ecosystem.

Inspired by the intelligence of forests — where knowledge circulates, roots intertwine, and renewal happens collectively — Reforesting the Body brings together somatic practice, neuroscience, creative inquiry, and decolonial thinking to support mental, emotional, and social wellbeing.

Programme Launch

Start: There are two separate workshops: the Opening Workshop on 1 March 2026, and the first workshop of the term on 22 March 2026.

Registration opens: 10 February 2026.

Registration will be available via the ADC website.

Format: Monthly in-depth workshops and podcasts
Spaces: Limited

This programme is intentionally limited in size to ensure care, depth, and meaningful exchange.

What Is Reforesting the Body?

Reforesting the Body is a March–November 2026 dance and mental health programme that understands movement as both knowledge and care.

Through somatic and creative dance practices, participants explore:

  • Neuroplasticity and memory
  • Neurodiversity and attention
  • Decolonising the body

Dance is approached not as performance, but as an embodied cognitive and relational practice — one that supports regeneration, agency, and connection, much like a forest renewing itself over time.

Who Is It For?

This programme is open to:

  • Dance artists and movers
  • Somatic practitioners and educators
  • Cultural workers and creatives
  • People working in emotionally or mentally demanding environments
  • Anyone seeking embodied tools for wellbeing, reflection, and renewal

No previous dance experience is required — curiosity and openness to movement are central.
