BigGive!

We are delighted to announce that the Acosta Dance Foundation has been selected to take part in the Big Give Arts for Impact match funding campaign!

For one week and one week ONLY – all donations towards our education and community engagement programmes made through the Big Give platform will be doubled, helping us reach our goal of £20,000.

Many children and youth in Greenwich Borough grow up in low-income households and are more likely to face mental health issues, poor physical health, low sense of well-being and other social issues. Almost a third of neighbourhoods in Greenwich are amongst the 20% most deprived in England and as a result may be less likely to have access to dance and other cultural activities.

By collaborating with local schools and youth organisations we will offer free dance-related activities that tackle these challenges and improve young people’s lives through enhancing resilience, body confidence, self-expression, communication skills, cultural awareness, physical fitness, well-being, and mental health. Some of these activities include Afro-Cuban Rumba, Contemporary, and Salsa, visits to our dance centre in Woolwich to watch rehearsals, musicality workshops, and more!

The donation window is open NOW and will close at midday on Tuesday the 26th of March.
